Dr. Zdanowicz attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry. He then pursued a career in the dental profession and selected the premier program offered at Columbia University where he was awarded a doctorate degree from the School of Dental and Oral Surgery in 1990. His interest turned to national service and it was during his final year at Columbia that he accepted a commission as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. In 1997 Dr. Zdanowicz began his periodontal training at the National Naval Dental Center in Bethesda, Maryland, and received a Certificate in Periodontics in 2000.
Dr. Zdanowicz received Board Certification (Diplomate status) with the American Board of Periodontology in May of 2001. After a 13-year career in the Navy he resigned his naval commission with many accolades and the rank of Commander in September, 2003. Shortly thereafter, he was fortunate to have been offered an assignment with the Air Force Reserve. In November, 2004 Dr. Zdanowicz began his association with the 512th Airlift Wing on Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware. He is currently the Chief of Dental Services holding the rank of Colonel.
As a specialist, Dr. Zdanowicz focuses on the need for continued exposure and education to all new procedures and instrumentation that support the ideal patient outcome. He feels fortunate to have attended educational events in places spanning from Seoul, Korea to Tokyo, Japan and throughout the Untied States. His passion for periodontics includes an astute understanding of the contributing factor of occlusal disharmony in periodontal disease. Dr. Zdanowicz has studied at great length at both the Dawson Academy (Teaching the Concept of Complete Occlusion) and the Spear Curriculum Education Seminars. His approach is directed by the understanding that the many facets of complete dentistry coalesce so that his patients are provided a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan encompassing the full spectrum of the masticatory system.

Dr. Giselle Jose-Ching

Dr. Giselle-Jose-Ching began her dental career as a dental assistant at Angelou Dental. During her time as an assistant, the mentorship provided by Dr. Angelou and the entire clinical team inspired Dr. Jose-Ching to pursue a career as a dentist. She graduated from New York University in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in both Spanish and Psychology and earned her doctorate from the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery in 2012. From 2012-2013, she completed a General Practice Residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York where she gained valuable experience in hospital dentistry due to the complex dental and medical cases that she encountered.
Years of volunteering and her desire to maintain her Spanish language skills influenced Dr. Jose-Ching to work for a community health setting. She worked for a community health center in Brooklyn, New York directly after her residency where she honed both her dental and Spanish skills. In 2015, Dr. Jose-Ching moved back to Maryland and continued to work for a federally qualified health center in Baltimore. After a year, she was promoted to the position of Lead Dentist. As a Lead Dentist, Dr. Jose-Ching not only had clinical duties but was also responsible for the administrative demands that came with running a dental clinic in a public health setting. Eager to continue her clinical growth and expand her horizons, Dr. Jose-Ching joined the Angelou Dental team in 2020. In joining Dr. Angelou's team, Dr. Jose-Ching has come full circle and in maintaining her position as a Lead Dentist at the health center, she is able to enjoy the best of both worlds.
Dr. Jose-Ching is committed to providing high quality comprehensive dental care and promoting access to care for the entire community. Her practice philosophy is based on a holistic, evidence based approach that promotes patient education and the establishment of mutual trust and open communication between patient and doctor. She is always looking for growth and new challenges. She is eager to keep abreast with the latest advances in dentistry through the pursuit of continuing education and maintains an active membership in the American Dental Association and the National Network for Oral Health Access.
